Howto edit /remove a fw_env entry
April 25, 2013 01:23PM
Hi
I need to remove an entry from fw_env
I had just got to the stage of interchangeable USB flash drives one with debian one with Arch

As both booted up with the orange LED on I added fw_env machid dd6

Green Led on Arch when it boots up and now Debian will not boot.

Does the debian kernel not like machid dd6 ???

I need to delete that entry , How ?????

thanks

It is definately the fw_env entry machid dd66 that will stop Debian from booting
Removing it allows both Debian and Arch to be used by just changing USB flash drives
Its the entry Arch use to set the LEDs to the selected colour

I changede the entry by deleting them all , but thats a bit drastic

Thanks, so no value set becomes a null enty , is that correct, and that applies to all entries in fw_env ??
