NSA325 Power off before Powing on?

NSA325 Power off before Powing on?

I just wanted to check if anyone else with the nsa3xx Nas box's have any issue with turning the box on.

For some reason at the moment when i push the power button the box turns on, then off, then on and boots?

Which device? 325? Some earlier revisions of the v1 seem to have an over-acheiving watchdog with a wonky capacitor. I have one of these myself.

Symptoms: If "cold", takes ~3 tries to make it far enough into the kernel to shut off the watchdog
Result: power, fan spin (varying rate), disk spin, disk read, hard power blip @ the mains into the board. (the MCU mashes the SoC reset)

Yeah the 325 V2.

Mine when i press the power button just starts (powers on no uboot activity) on for about a second.

Shuts off for about a second.

Then turns back on and boots without any problems.

Yup, that is one of those patterns. I think they screwballed the SoC init, and a power cycle resolves it. Sometimes, like in my case, it does overboard.

Darn so what can we do about it? we might have uart booting from what iv been getting.

Actualy do you have to press and hold either the power or copy button for a second or 2 before it responds?

Nope. I just wait for it to finish booting. Only happens when it is "cold".

Mine it happens everytime i turn it on. Only time it doesnt is if i reboot from within debian. (must check again to be sure)

Yeah, how long was it off?

If I power off, then turn it back on within a minute or two, its not a problem. 5+ minutes and it is "cold"

It happens whetever its been off for a few seconds (less that 10) andwhen its been off for minutes.
