How To Install PBX With GUI
December 25, 2013 05:51PM
Any one have an up to date guide for installing a PBX with a GUI. A long time ago I tried Asterisk with FreePBX but ran in to trouble with FreePBX and could not get it resolved.
Thanks

Hi, you may want to try the Elastix project at http://www.elastix.org

You could try FusionPBX, I run it on my Debian v4 pogoplugs just fine. It'd run even better on an E02.

Install with http://fusionpbx.googlecode.com/svn/branches/dev/scripts/install/ubuntu/install_fusionpbx.sh

Instructions/documentation at: http://wiki.fusionpbx.com/index.php?title=Easy_FusionPBX

Bear in mind that this script will download the source for Freeswitch and compile it on the Pogoplug. Yes it will take time, but It's not too bad.

I wouldn't run Postgres or Mysql backends on it, just stick with the default sqlite and you'll be fine.

Thanks to both of you. I will explore both options.

@STuPiDiCuS
Can I trouble you for detailed instructions for installation on a clean Debian install. I ran in to some problems and would appreciate your help.
Thanks

Wow! That is an amazing package. I used Bohdi's latest debian on a usb hard drive and plugged into my dockstar (which had Davy Gravy's macplug installed with his modded uboot).

I had to try a couple times to get enough room. I ended up making my first partition 10GB!

The fusionpbx script is made for ubuntu but it ran on my box without error.

I did create a problem when asked to configure fusionpbx at the end. It prompted me to put in a user name and password for the person to use the app. I hadn't created yet. But I don't know that that was a problem. The tougher problem was finding where to put the fusionpbx.db@! There are no hints and I got it wrong and it crashed. But after searching a while and after trying to reinstall the web interface I looked at the script and it point to var/www/fusionpbx/secure. I put it there and all was grand!

Another fault that wasn't easy to come by but easy to fix. Once you make a mistake you can't restart. You have to delete the config.php file in fusionpbx/resources. Then the web setup can be restarted. Trivial.
