Plex Media Server or other alternatives

I'd like to watch my videos remotely and I don't need any transcoding. I've used Plex before and really liked it but so far it's available in Arch but not in Debian. Is it possible to install Plex or what alternatives would you suggest for PogoPlug e02?

I don't use Plex, but I thought I've read somewhere you can install it with deb package, or use unofficial repo.

I installed the latest Plex Media Server with Bodhi's rootfs on pogoplug and poor pogoplug can't play most of the videos. Unfortunately Plex is not really suitable for this device.

minidlna is my choice - or mediavault

Unfortunately minidlna doesn't work over internet. VPN is not an option. All I want to do just stream the videos from pogoplug without transcoding because my home ISP allows 120mb/20mb speed.

if you have another pogo - i suppose you could use that the way the plug was intended by cloudengines to be used - that was its original purpose.

I have successfully used the synology package.

Download, extract it, and run the startup script

The pogoplug is slow scanning metadata, but is quick after scan is done.

Can you be more specific? What package did you use for Debian?

ohhh I already installed Plex but I've decided not to use it anymore because web interface won't work without transcoding but Plex Home Theather doesn't support mouse properly.

Just thought of another option.... you could offer the the relevant folders out via http/https and watch them in from your browser.

I've been using mythtv. I have not tried it on a pogo though,, I am using it on an old linux setup.

I connect to it from those little usb tv sticks running android, I use an app called mythling, but any DLNA app should be compatible.
