Pink Pogoplug LED stays on

I have noticed recently that issuing

shutdown now

Shuts the pogoplug down, but partially. And that is to say the green LED stays on.

I test whether the box is down, by SSHing into it, and got:

ssh: connect to host 192.x.x.x port 22: Connection refused

There is a USB stick in the front port.

And I don't recall making any changes, aside installing and configuring things like SAMBA, minidlna, etc.

It would be very nice if I can get it back to normal. Something I'm sure those in the know, did I say bohdi :), could do in a split second.
