USB serial console connected, lost root password
March 20, 2017 05:06PM
Hi,

I have my Pogoplug V4 connected via serial cable which is on U-Boot 2016.05-tld-1 (June 12 2016 ....) I forgot my Debian's root password. Is there any way I can reset the password? -or- most preferably, I like to re-install the rootfs/linux (debian) on a new flash drive - how can I do that ?

Thanks,

Tushar.

The default root pasword is root (unless you have changed it).

To install new rootfs:

Hi Bodhi, Thanks for reply. I was wondering if I could revert back to original pogoplug factory firmware? Given the fact that I have serial connection and also I kept backup copy of MTD and all necessary files before upgrading to Debian?

Thanks.
