Linux to Linux Connection - OMV to Dockstar

If I use the stock Dockstar which has shares visible in Windows, etc, how can I set up another system, in this case OpenMediaVault, in order to do some rsyncs, etc? I tried different mount commands but I'm hopelessly lost. Say I want to just mount the main folder from which the dockstar shares connected drives. Is there a syntax to do that from Linux?

Just give you some hints:
If your devices are on the same network take a look at NFS
If you need a secure connection through the internet take a look at sshfs with fuse
You won't need any shares for rsync, just do it over e.g. ssh
