I've now some garbage output due to bad serial connexion, from the tx/rx testpin near the SoC.

tomorrow, i'll buy a max 232 to convert signals, and i'll be back here with some u-boot logs i hope.

thank you.

Hi all,

I'm now able to see the bootlog of my Eken T01a !!
The only working pads are those near the Soc (rx/tx). The others (marked 011001, near the battery wires, are not).

Soldering was a real nightmare, but doing this have given me some informations :

First of all, my tablet seems to have been damaged before. I can only have a successful (but non full booting) bootsequence while doing some pressure on the board. If i don't, i've got a "Sdram initialisation error". (bad).

Anymay, here is the log, without Sdcad, with no more messages after "Loading Kernel". Perhaps an other debug console configuration is given from the kernel.

Thank you for your help.

i'm now going to investigate the SDcard boot thing, and perhaps be able in few days to reflash the internal nand to boot normally.

Congrats on getting the serial port working! If I still had my T-01 I would be very interested in your work.

Figured as much from the IRC discussion I had. . .

That would be the opposite way most people have done it ;)

(Edit: Sorry: did not see your post before under rescue about the NAND - if you need an Android NAND image go here)

So currently you are booting Linux from NAND? Please also be aware that you can boot both from NAND (Android & Linux) and SD using uboot-multi or similar setup, and using the recovery partition for the NAND install. That method tends to boot more reliably on the tablets. It is only a couple spare GB left over for the install, but you can also put /home on the SD if you need more room.

Anyway, thanks for the update. Glad to hear it is working. This section of the thread should really be split off into a separate Eken serial port thread. . .

It's very useful and informative in your A10 topic. First of all thanks for that. I don't know whether i can discuss my problem here. I am using an A10 based tablet one day I was installing an incompatible CWM recovery software after that i couldn't boot normally into my os it always leads me to recovery and no keys are working because of incompatible software soon i tried to flash my tablet with some of a10 firmwares but it gives me error every time both in livesuit as well as phoenixusbpro. I came to know may be the partitions had been altered that's why this problem ( i dont know exactly). I have posted in many places but no one can resolve my issue now i find this forum with more knowledge regarding NAND, partitions etc. Hence i kindly submit my problem to you please guide me to bounce back from the problem .. please ... :(

you may do better posting this in the u-boot section
