Octa-Core RK3368 TV Box

Just wanted to share this.

I don't know if this offer of a Z68 RK3368 TV Box Octa Core Android 5.1 BT 4.0 2GB 16GB US $18.69 (with Free ePacket shipping and with eBay money back guarantee) is a scam or not, but I just placed an order for one piece (estimated delivery Thu, Aug 18 - Thu, Sep 01). One thing I noticed before I placed an order is the ad said 5 available / 2 sold in 1 hour and after my order it said 5 available / 3 sold in 1 hour. In other words, the seller probably has a lot in stock at this lower price. This could mean the stock is either full of factory defective items to dump out or the offer is just a scam. If it is a scam, then I will get my money back through the eBay resolution center (after 10 days sans shipment + process time). If it is not a scam, then I will get the item which may and/or may not be a defective item. If it is a defective item, then back to eBay resolution center to get my money back. So, I believe it is a win win situation. if you wanna take some risks like I did, then feel free to grab one before the offer is gone.

Here is another R8 4K Octa Core Android TV Box 1/8 GB RAM/eMMC storage US $12.11 with eBay money back guarantee. Again, it may well be a scam.

You're on a roll Habibie. D@mn :-)

Joey, not yet there. First, as I mentioned before this item may be a scam. Even though it is not a scam, the item may be partially defective. For the later, I am hoping it will be caused by software. OTOH, if this Z68 can be simply configured to dual boot (like a S905 does), then I sure would like it to boot Linux off either one of its USB ports or through the NET. This way, I will configure the device to do more things besides as a TV Box (using kodi) when it runs Linux:
  1. As a desktop computer with office software, i.e. word processor, spreadsheet, etc.
  2. As a PBX server to handle all my VoIP calls.
  3. Etc.

Can a PBX server block Rachel at Cardholder Services? In fact there are websites like Mr Number, where they list the top 10 telephone offenders. That'd be awesome if you could paste those numbers weekly into your server and block them before they ever called you. Deserves a new topic maybe but think of the possibilities, especially in an election year?

I don't know what Rachel @Cardholder services are. TBH, my FreeSWITCH PBX server, hosted on my Seagete GoFLEX Home and configured with mod_blacklist, has 10+ lines with some US and UK free DID #s. If one of those lines rings with an unrecognized CID, I just let the incoming call go into the voicemail subsystem. If the received voicemail indicates a SPAM or my CID keeps showing the same unknown caller, then I can just pick up my phone and dial *98 + the CID to block future calls from the CID. The mod_blacklist can also be configured to send out a SIT tone when it detects such a CID. This will let the caller know your line is dead and will eventually prompt the caller server to (automatically) remove your number off their calling list.

Oh, Rachel at Cardholder Services is a spam robo call that gets through sometimes.

That server deal you've got looks like something I'll brush up on. What do you use for a phone then, or use a bluetooth phone or what, to connect with your FreeSWITCH server? I see FreeSWITCH has a Windows version (just for initial familiarity reasons), and I do have a couple laptops with a RJ11 receptacle but I was never sure if it could be rigged to support a landline phone, with it's 48 volts maybe.

This Z68 RK3368 TV Box Octa Core Android 5.1 BT 4.0 2GB 16GB Set top Box US $6.17 is ridiculously low that the offer does not even make any sense at all. The seller also has this 4K HD Smart TV Box S905 MXQ Pro XBMC Fully Loaded Android5.1 Quad Core US $5.09. The difference between the two is about US $1.08. Well, what the heck, I just placed an order for the Z68. If it does not come, then hopefully eBay will come to rescue.

Yeah if I had $20 in my PayPal I'd order three and cross my fingers for 10 days :-D Compare that gamble with a visit to a casino or case of beer. Or even going out to eat, knowing how unhealthy most fast food is.

But yeah Habibie, there's a place here for three x 4+ core 2G RAM boxes with video out. Config one as Debian, one as Mint XFCE and one stock.

Oh well, no money no honey :-/

It was a scam and eBay has already refunded my money.
