Recommend case for 2.5" hard drive > FreeAgent Theater+ ?

What neat little boxes Seagate makes, and I'd gotten a Seagate Theatre+ for $3 at local thrift store.
Then I took apart a $50 G-Connect (I bought same month as original Pogoplug) and see there's a nice SATA II Hitachi hard drive, with 2 days of my use on it.

I could be persuaded to have an external booting Debian or something, but if the original can still boot, but next step calls for a case and I'm good to go! They're usually like $7 from 3rd parties right?

Up until recently didn't realize you couldn't just plug a SATA hard drive into a Seagate device.
That's because I didn't have one to realize that. But as there are USB plugs on the unit so that's one workaround in the meantime.

For that matter, do all the Seagate docks have the same interface? I don't know that answer.

Just woke up and yes, thanks for your reply.

The project you're talking about sounds cool!

Joey,

Seagate devices have many different USB interfaces. The Theater+ has a mini-B male connector (IIRC), that was specifically built to house the Seagate 2.5" drive with inside a case with female mini-B connetor. This is the same as the Dockstar top USB configuration. And also a Seagate USB Dock. The Theater+ is very underpowered and it has a MIPS SoC.

Don't try to find the Seagate HDD that has this housing, imagine the heat problem if you plug an HDD like that inside the Theater+ with the cover on. Best to run it without the top cover and connect this mini-B USB connector to a USB extension cable to an external HDD.

Thank you kindly sir, that's exactly what I was looking for. Yeah the dimension of the unit's dock connector looks indeed like a mini-B. I'll have to stock up on -B- ends both mini-female and micro-male because of that, and just in case otherwise.
