Check attachment of what a neighbor left me when they moved a couple weeks ago. They're the couple whose Windows computers I've kept setup and maintained for 6 years. Of course when people move, neighbors get stuff, and I asked for a high backed computer chair - but this was not only unexpected, he told me I could sell it, which I'm doing because I'm an audio guy and need some new gear to remote record audio. All it lacks is a helmet with a spike, aye? LOL

A LANternet neighborhood web server/instant message thing? I've mentioned it many times and will stop shy of getting every one mad. But my neighborhood is getting much more dangerous daily, and all the neighbors want a way to be forewarned :-)

Welcome back Gravelrash :)

We need iSCSI write-up! This will help a great deal with the plugs that has no SATA. Such as: Pogoplug E02, iConnect, Dockstar,...

It's been on my ToDo list, like forever :) never had time to work on it.

Yeah the iSCSI idea is more in line with your other projects.
Do it! :-)

Joey, that is a nice piece of hardware, except I believe it is a 2-stroke engine that requires a mixed fuel and is certainly not environmentally friendly. Perhaps, you ought to give it to Donald Trump as a gift? ;)

Wouldn't NFS and/or SMB be better?

Loving the bike.

iSCSI setup
Are you looking for this to be Target or Initiator, i'm presuming you want it as an initiator??

Neighbourhood messaging server:
Sounds interesting. I presume you are looking for this device to also hosts is its own wifi access point?
First thoughts on this would be along the lines of a forum setup like this one?
Let me know what you are looking to accomplish as opposed to a "wishlist"

Hello to all again :)

Fair words of warning, ill be doing this kind of stuff in between playing with my own 2-stroke toys.....
@Joey thats a nice bike, looks like its a board racer. is it?
@habibie 2 stroke is less poluting than Diesel :)))

This looks like a good "starter for 10" for the iSCSI setup.

Gravelrash,

We want the pogoplugs to be Initiator, and the Target could be a Linux/Mac/Windows box. For starter, the Target should be on Linux, ie. another pogoplug-like box or Linux Mint. They both should be on a Gbits network.

Eventually, if we can set up iSSCI on Windows, then a lot of cheap old PCs can be used for storage.

No, it is the reverse of what you think. See above.

Oh yes it is environmentally friendly, I got it from a deer friend (see attachment) :-)

@ Gravelrash: I've got to look, but I think this was a kit from a place in the States called http://www.bikeberry.com/
I have no idea the exact model, but IMO this would make a fantastic conversation piece on a wall at a fine tavern or something. It's too cool to even think of riding, me thinks, but it's a long summer ahead, maybe :-)

Sorry guys for getting off topic - I'll let you back to your train of thought.
