There are little electronic kits for children and I got one as a kid. Remember the AM radio? You clip little wires in the little slinky holders and there's an antenna, a crystal, a tuner and earpiece. In recent years I was thunderstruck to review that, and there's no battery! Seriously, the radio energy is strong enough to be captured by the antenna, get tuned and drive a coil so haby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
After 15 years of monthly AT&T bill ending up at $107 including 756Kbps internet connection.... (deep breath) they had a lower cost plan that's 5Mbps connection and includes a modem any standard phone plugs into for $72-Mo for a year until it goes up $10. I find myself with a hand-me-down 2.5" smaller hard drive, and direct copied my Pogoplug 64GB USB stick to it. Then used GParted to expand the partition to capacity. It does work when plugged in with a USB adapter, I got that far and have one last round of tests such as power consumption and spin down. But what I'd like to do is seed torrents that are old and unpopular. So it wouldby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic

Hey you guys, is it possible to connect two together through the GPIO pins and end up with an 8-core @ 8GB RAM? You could make one ridiculously powerful hand held recording studio if that's possible. If it ran REAPER, 1.5 gHz x 4 cores should be well enough for processing most audio with low latency and any audio offline, but another unit would deal with (in my mind) all the IO stuff thatby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic

The thought occurred to me, my mom is entirely computer illiterate, wants the most basic of computer functions like look up recipes and simple searches like "is Crystal Gayle Loretta Lynn's sister or daughter?" Well ladies & germs, It pains me greatly to report I got somewhat of an intermittent - it doesn't like being recognized nor can it be trusted to let the Defragmenter turn off computer after it's finished. What a sweet deal! If that 2nd one is up in the near future I'll go for it - the SpeedPAK is part of the allure, but this month my pennies went to a 2TB hard drive @ $40 and a WD Scorpio Black for a laptop. So how are octa cores for performance and what do you run on them? If you don't mind me asking. If there's Linux versions of pitch to MIDI I'd be inclined to build oby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
