Debian on DS115J possible?

Hi there,

It's likely I will get a Synology DS115J, as I see on the specs is Armada 370 88F6707 , 256MB RAM
do you think folks it's possible to run debian on it ? If I am not mistaken is armhf - that there are ports.
Happy to do debugging (I am not s/ware 'guru' but I can so things) with that if this will benefit to this site .
Thank you!

Hi,

thanks!

yes, I can even solder on board if there is no headers

ouch now I ve noticed someone tried this on this forum https://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,119399 (*)
I am wondering if that guy finally managed to make a full port (mainly the issues with network)

(*) bit weird, if I search for "DS115J" the forum returns only this thread... and believe me I did a search before and
I got zero results..

I believe the NAS will be with me in a few weeks

thanks again

Yes, it is possible. There is another similar board that already has support: Synology DS213j. Hopefully it will be close enough.

But you will need to connect serial console. The testing must be done with serial console. Does it sound like something you want to do?
