Hello, i am from korea.

I tried to install on this device.
I install a new bootloader on this device.
But I made a mistake.
This device is not backed up properly.
So the NAND drive doesn't boot at all.
Only the spl area is displayed from NAND drive.

So, I made a new attempt.
Try booting to s-ata.
Initially, it does not boot well.
After several attempts, u-boot succeeded.
However, it started to get blocked from `Uncompressing Linux ... done, booting the kernel.`.
I tried formatting and reinstalling the s-ata disk, but it didn't work at all.

Is this possible only with pogoplug v3?

What should I do from here?

Change bootloader options?
The contents of that post should not change the kernel file,
Even if I change dtb file in option, this state.

Kang Jinsu,

I see. Since this is the Atikio MyCloud, not Pogo V3 Oxnas, there is some difference that coud have prevented it from booting. This kernel 2.6.x is quite old and built specifically for Pogo V3 Pro.

It is quicker to recover by flashing u-boot to NAND to fix the booting problem. And then create a new rootfs on USB usinng Debian-4.4.54-oxnas-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2. .

But completely broken.
No reaction at all.
I have to get the SPL phrase yesterday, but now there is no phrase at all.

I think I came too far.

Ask carefully. I think I made a serious mistake.

I no longer use stock firmware.
So it doesn't matter if the stock firmware doesn't work.

I deleted NAND all before recording u-boot.
I think the records from the beginning are wrong and conflict with each other.

It records, but it still won't boot from NAND.

If flashing new u-boot does not work out, then go back to booting with HDD directly.

And then use the latest rootfs Debian-4.4.54-oxnas-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2.

Extract it to the HDD where the rootfs is currently is. And then copy uImage and uInird to /boot, copy the DTB to /boot/dts.

Kang Jinsu,

Your current envs still try to boot with the old kernel. We're going to try booting with the new kernel.

Boot with HDD again. Interrupt serial console and
run dt_ide_boot

And post the entire serial console log here.

There might be something wrong with the HDD.

As right now, you can boot the box with u-boot stored in the HDD. So that is good. But to boot into Debian, I think you should create a USB rootfs (using a USB 2.0 thumb drive).


Use another Linux box, log in as root, create 1 Ext3 partition, and untar the rootfs tarball (follow the instruction very closely).

Take the USB to another Linux box. Log in as root user. And mount the USB. Assuming it is mounted at /media/sdb1.

cd /media/sdb1
dd if=/dev/zero of=swapfile1 bs=1024 count=524288 
mkswap swapfile1

And then edit /media/sdb1/etc/fstab to have this content:

/media/sdb1/etc/fstab

#
# <file system> <mount point>   <type>  <options>       <dump>  <pass>
LABEL=rootfs     /             ext3    noatime,errors=remount-ro 0 1
/swapfile1     swap            swap    defaults          0       0

And then sync

And umount the USB drive, plug it back to this Akitio box, Power up and try to boot again

Maybe this USB is a multi-card reader, so is it?
First, I will purchase a single card reader and try again.

The USB memory devices I have are in poor condition.
[I think my 8G memory stick seems to be broken.

When you got to this point, it is very close. The problem is most likely with the USB card reader. The other errors in the log usually indicates a bad disk drive or partition.


When you do testing like this, never use a card reader. You must use a real USB thumb drive.

What I usually use is a Sandisk brand USB drive. That eliminate lots of problem with the hardware. If you don't have Sandisk USB, try using a good brand such as Kingston or Transcend.

A bad USB thunmb drive cause a lot of problems booting. A card reader should never be used until after you got the system booted successfully.
