SSH latency

Is there anyway of improving the SSH latency on a PogplugE02.
No problem with scp up and downloads, but when typing on CLI it seems to hang for several seconds at a time.
characters sent are received but not shown , then appear after a few seconds. other times no delay.
Top shows nothing taking more than 5%.
A ping shows times less than 3ms
Is this normal with a pogoplug ?

I don't see this latency issue here. Methinks you have another problem, or a non-standard issue with your Pogo E02. On my local LAN, ping times to my Pogos are about 1/5 of a ms.

I get a constant ping time of 1.73ms, but that is from the laptop on a wireless lan., the pogo is on the lan from the router.

Does an "ifconfig" show any errors or packet loss (dropped packets)?

just one
Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:25:31:04:97:78
inet addr: Bcast: Mask:
inet6 addr: fe80::225:31ff:fe04:9778/64 Scope:Link
RX packets:5579 errors:0 dropped:1 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:3855 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:1377875 (1.3 MiB) TX bytes:991552 (968.3 KiB)

Its strange, I'd expect it on a NSLU2 , but this is a lot faster
