Cant boot to debian from goflex home
October 04, 2011 02:26PM
Hi,
i've installed arch linux on my goflex home
i use the "official" wiki with uboot 0.6 as mentionned and a good usb key (sandisk cruzer 4gb) witch boot perfectly arch.
i have a netconsole that works for uboot and kmsg,
i use jeff 's script to install debian
just to tell i use and usb hub to boot arch linux on /dev/sdb
i explain :
- disconnect hd
- put in first position an empty flash disk (no part)
-put in second position the arch boot usb flash

the u boot detect the two key the first is empty it try the second, so my boot disk is /dev/sdb
then i make fdisk on /dev/sda and run jeff's script : no problem for this
only the ubit loader is skipped because it seems that goflex home is not recognized by uboot script

and after i shutdown and take off the second usb key in order to boot with only sda1.

here's the uboot console :

and after : nohing all led are off and no kernel msg (no panic : nothing)
the label is "rootfs"
I've tried also with other method but result is the same

So the question is what is the problem ?

The only distrib that boot is arch and i've noticied that it dont use "legacy image" with initrd but only the kernel (in /boot)

I don't know if it is a debian error or uboot could you help me please ?

if someone has a debian that boot with debian can he paste me a fw_printenv the uboot version and the debian distrib that he use ?

Thanks a lot i would really test debian
