My dockstar has only the newest uboot image.
When i abort the bootprocess, the comand promt tells me "Marvell>>"

Here is the output after I typin "version":

U-Boot 2010.09 (Oct 23 2010 - 11:49:22)
Marvell-Dockstar/Pogoplug by Jeff Doozan

is this a "good" version of the bootloader?

Now, i am wired up with the serial conection....

And now, i want to install debian on the usb flash drive.

Did i realy need the original progoplug os?
Thank you for the help, in i hope you understand what i mean :)

YES!

Just need a running linux (like pogo's firmware) to run jeff debian installer script. The best way nowadays to get a valid linux distro on your device is install archlinuxarm from a host (with or without gnu/linux)...

When you boot from usb with archlinuxarm you can install jeff's rescue system v2, and then install debian on a USB drive from the rescue system prompt running jeff's script!

Good luck &
Have fun !!!

In fact, to create a working Debian image you don't even need the Dockstar :)
If you have some linux experience and a working linux system with Ubuntu or Debian,
you should take a look be interested at my howto:
