Wheezy wireless network: poboplug V2 bootup with usb wireless

Posted by TJ
Having had many frustrations trying to get Pogoplug V2 to play nicely with networks, I just installed Wheezy using Jeff's nice new script. http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,8722,8837

Can anyone please direct me as to the simplest way to get the pogoplug to use a USB wifi adapter to attach to the network. In past searches, I have found much interrelated information and haven't been able to make any of the methods work with squeeze.

Under Wheezy, my adaptor is recognized
Linux deb3wx 3.2.0-3-kirkwood #1 Wed Jul 4 09:59:20 UTC 2012 armv5tel GNU/Linux

and the kernel has loaded what appear to be appropriate drivers.

Which, if any additional programs do I need to install?

Remember, I'm trying to have it boot up to the usb drive and use only the wireless to
connect. (Yes, for now I have a wire, but will not when I take the system where it is going.)

Thanks for any help! I was about to give up when I saw the new wheezy install and now I have hope again.

Maybe you need the firmware. Whats the ouput of "dmesg | grep firmware"

http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/rt2800usb
Good thought, but I fixed that already. :-) Firmware is found.
Finally, found a missing piece!
auto lo
allow-hotplug eth0
allow-hotplug wlan0
Using ifplugd, wpasupplicant, and the pre-installed networking tools I have a remote wireless accessible pogo plug.
So, http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,563,989#msg-989 was almost there, but it needed the allow-hotplug wlan0 and allow-hotplug eth0 to work for me.

Thanks all.
