Which debian tutorial is more recent for GoFlex Home 3TB
October 29, 2012 07:13PM
Hi,

I'm planning on debianizing my GoFlex Home.
I was going to put Arch on it but stumbled on the tutorial by Jeff here:
http://projects.doozan.com/debian/ which lead me to this page.

While browsing the forums before installing I got to this thread: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,9819

Which eventually lead me to this second tutorial by Gr3yh0und

So my question is. Which tutorial is the one I'm supposed to follow? I got the Seagate GoFLex Home 3TB

To keep thing simple follow, http://projects.doozan.com/debian/, and install with a flash drive first. The 3TB hardisk tends to cause lot of headaches. After you've got it running on a flash drive, you can easily clone it to the HDD. Once you got to that point, the decision to use the 3TB hardisk as boot drive will be depending on your needs and whether you want to spend more time getting around some problems with the 3TB boot drive.

Wow thank you for your reply. I really got confused a bit by the tut and thought the drive was supposed to be the boot drive. I'll get to it then. THanks again
