Best way to revive my Pogoplug E02?
May 11, 2013 08:30PM
Hi everybody!

I'm a bit clueless what might be the problem with my Pogoplug E02.

Here is what I did:
* installed squeeze from Pogo OS following http://projects.doozan.com/debian/
* updated to wheezy
* installed some packages using apt
* purge-removed proftp using apt

Here's what happend:
* after rebooting debian the LED is on but I get a "connection refused" via ssh
* the device answers ping-requests

As I could not figure out what might be the problem I rebooted without the USB-drive hoping to get back into the Pogo-environment and be able to reinstall debian but:
* the LED is steady green
* the device does not answer ping-requests
* ssh-connects time out
* the device displayed as "offline" in the manufacturer's webservice-UI

If boot with the USB-drive reattached I get the same as before:
* after rebooting I get a "connection refused" via ssh
* the device answers ping-requests

What might be the best way to revive my device of if the installed debian is still working - how do I get in?

TIA

ian,

How long have you waited before trying to log in through ssh? which file system is on your USB, ext2 or ext3?

If it's ext2, then take the stick to a different Linux box and run e2fsck to check error. If it ext3 then wait for a few minutes to see if it was recovering from error.
