Thanks all! Success at last!

After many iterations of various kinds, I have finally deployed a remote pogo plug powered web cam.

The pogoplug runs a Canon S2 IS camera using gphoto2 (had to compile newer version than the repository) and uploads using curl full zoomed and variously cropped photos of our 1200ft higher and 1 mile away windsock every 5 minutes. It does this over a usb-wi-fi dongle with a raylink 3070 chipset. Total hardware cost about $150, including pogoplug, used camera, power adapter, wi-fi dongle, and cheap plastic box housing.
It even took a picture of me while I was nowhere near the camera or a computer.

During daylight hours PDT/PST, you can see it's operation here:

and the top picture here:

There have been many stumbling blocks along the way but many thanks to all who helped get the various modules and drivers incorporated that allow it to run.

Maybe one day I will pare it down to the minimum to see if it could be all in the pogoplug NAND.

p.s. I sure hope this is not a premature finally success note...
