help install ANY Linux OS on Dell Wyze 3020 ARM device?

I've tried following multiple instruction sets like these and never managed to get this to work. It never boots from the USB.

I think it has to do with the instructions sets not being completely comprehensive and I think I might be missing a step or two. Is there a comprehensive guide to doing this?
