Wheezy for Pogoplug B01?
December 06, 2013 01:45PM
I have an Pogoplug B01 (I think the processor is the same as Pogoplug Pro). I installed Debian Squeeze using squeezeplug as someone suggested (maybe Bodhi?) It worked fine. However, right now I want to upgrade it to Wheezy and dist-upgrade didn't work out. Does anyone has suggestions? If it has discussed this somewhere on this forum, please point the link to me also. I did some search but didn't find the solution yet. Thanks in advance.

twinclouds,

If you are running Debian Squeeze rootfs on this OXNAS B01, you can upgrade the rootfs to Wheezy. But udev will cause problem, so it will need to be hold back to the current version you have. t's very simple as running a command:
http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,6336,13058#msg-13058

So:
- hold udev
- changing apt/source.list to wheezy
- apt-get update
- apt-get upgrade (don't do dist-upgrade).

You still want to stay with ALARM 2.6 kernel currently in NAND, so dist-upgrade is not going to work. After you've upgraded, a majority of packages in your rootfs will be updated to wheezy version.

Bodhi:
I tried your approach on the squeezeplug installation and it worked also. It looks like the key is using upgrade instead of list-upgrade and hold udev as you said.
Thank you very much for your help.
