After investigating why Linux Kernel 5.15.158 wouldn't boot properly on the AKiTio MyCloud Mini, found the cause was a setting in the DTS file enabling PCIe.
Removing the PCIe configuration allowed it to boot successfully.

This might also explain why some boards occasionally reported boot failures starting with version 4.4.189 or later in the thread.

I am one who's never been able to boot past this on my Pogoplug Pro. I did post here occasionally and we tried some things but never got anywhere as I just settled there to keep it working. Interesting find if this would apply to my situation, thanks.

It's different. Because the Pogo Pro does have PCIe slot inside for Wifi. The Pogo Classic is the same as Pogo Pro, but without PCIe. Sometime people boot the Pogo Classic but use the Pogo Pro DTB, and that would cause booting problem. If you have a Pogo Pro, open it up and remove the Wifi card to see if you ever have problem booting again. Or if you dont care about that PCIe slot at all, you can boot with the Pogo Classic DTB (ox820-pogoplug-classic.dtb).

I guess the situation is similar for the AKiTio MyCloud Mini. Either it does not have PCIe slot, or that slot is not working. I'm not sure which one, since I have never seen the hardware or specifications for AKiTio MyCloud Mini. IIRC, I got this DTS from OpenWrt repo.

@tiramisu376,

Thanks for the report. Can you list the specifications for this box? For example, SATA, USB, PCIe, RAM size....

I updated the entry at WikiDevi using details from my example about 4 years ago. See AKiTio MyCloud Mini

For example, I refer to it as the AKiTio MyCloud Mini, but the actual models I own are the Maxell ShareMax and the Marshal MAL-4725NAS.
It also appears to have been sold under the model name SilverStone DC01.

Since all of them have the same appearance as the AKiTio MyCloud Mini, I believe they are OEM products.

This model does not have a PCIe slot itself.

Thanks all! I will release another version for 5.15 oxnas stable kernel.

@bodhi thank you for that advice and I will give that a try.

I was aware that the AKiTio MyCloud Mini hardware was identical to the SilverStone DC01, but had never heard of the other 2 devices. A Google search indicates that they were both available on the Japanese market.

As for issues with the actual MyCloud Mini version it apparently has a messed up U-Boot. See the thread at OpenWrt
