Password less login on Debian rootfs not working

I followed the guide at https://www.debian.org/devel/passwordlessssh and many times it worked - but I now installed the ned Debian rootfs on a new pogoplug, and I can't get passwordless login to work!

Even though the key is copied and has the permissions 600, I am still asked for the password.

How can I enable passwordless login for the new Debian rootfs?

Any suggestions?

Solved - somehow the wrong key was copied. No idea how. I copied it over from a different machine.
