Got USB Display working last night.

I had a 20x4 LCD display which I have not used in over a year, thought it might be a nice "status" display for the debian dock. Took some coding in c to get it working, but it now does work.

See picture.

That's fantastic. Can you post source and the model number in case others would like to play with it?

Yes and no. They do work, but so far the call to read them seems to block, so it's better to just poll for it. Will see if I get the better version working. Will post article with source.

when you got a USB-LCD why you didnt use lcd4linux as debian package?

I'm new to linux, last used unix when I worked on aix's cc command and added protected memory support to minix os. So I don't have any idea what lcd4linux is. I just happen to come across usblcd and lcdproc when going to the website the lcd manufacturer had. Now I see how it is addressed, which is a bit non-standard, but as long as I have the source I should be able to get most programs working. I will take a look at lcd4linux tonight.
