I installed the new 89 kernel. Wifi and wap-supplicant are working fine. Some kernel modules are unintentionally loaded:
Neither /etc/modules nor /etc/initramfs/modules contain instructions for raid6.

Not sure. They were not loaded in my system (Stretch).
This might be a difference between Squeeze and Stretch, where Squeeze has different modules dependencies running with newer kernel.
How about checking /etc/modules-load.d ?

Maybe I had installed and tested some raid tools some years ago. Even btrfs-tools wasn't installed on my system anymore btrfs was still activated in initramfs. The problem was solved by execution of

Device Drivers -> Real Time Clock -> Dallas/Maxim DS1307/37/38/39/40, ST M41T00, EPSON RX-8025
I slightly changed the ox820-akitio.dts to boot from sata hdd (NAS I-STOR IS608). Compiled the kernel, like the RTC normally works

P.S. If the NAS was disconnected from the power supply, then when you turn on the message
It seems that when you first turn on, the initialization of rtc-ds1307 occurs before initialization of i2c and therefore an error. We must somehow postpone the delay.

That's the RTC for this NAS I-STOR IS608 box?

I'll take a look. If this change cause proble for the Akitio then we should make a new DTS (i.e. call it nas-i-stor-is608.dts or something like that).

Yes
These clones are AKiTiO MyCloud Duo - Iconbit I-STOR IS608, FANTEC CL-35B2, Eminent EM4172.
They are all externally and internally one to one.(The screen was appended)

Yes, it will be better, I'll try to define Gpio Led and Key.
It's more logical to call ox820-akitio-duo.dts or ox820-akitio-mycloud-duo.dts, the rest were copied from it

You should not have to change the DTS for booting SATA like that. The DTS bootargs is not relevant.
The u-boot env bootargs should be modified to your specific needs. It will override whatever defintion in the DTS.

Defined GPIO on Iconbit I-STOR IS608 (probably on clones of others as well):
The location on the front panel of Led and Button Akitio MyCloud Duo is visible in the photo attached . On my I-STOR IS608 also
11 (A11) green1 (hdd1)
25 (A25) reset (button)
27 (A27) copy (button)
28 (A28) red (error)
29 (A29) blue (OS)
38 (B6) green2 (hdd2)
39 (B7) orange (copy)
41 (B9) sda (i2c)
42 (B10) scl (i2c)
The "PowerOFF / ON" button (it seems to be hardware attached to the CPU is tied) to gpio does not matter,
I've all exported gpio 0-49 to "in" and "out" for detection.
Datasheet for Oxnas (OX820) no.

Nice to hear you are still working on these Oxnas devices. RTC was my problem too before and I did not find any good resolution in it. Would it work if I2C was left in kernel and RTC made as module to ensure I2C was initiated first?
B.T.W. Original 2.6 kernel dmesg has RTC first and I2C after it:
"rtc-ds1307 0-0068: rtc core: registered m41t00 as rtc0
i2c-gpio i2c-gpio.0: using pins 41 (SDA) and 42 (SCL)"

Yes the patches should be applied on top of the mainline source tree 4.4.117. There is already activity to mainline the OX820 SoC starting kernel 4.9.x by Neil Armstrong.

Yes the patches should be applied on top of the mainline source tree 4.4.117. There is already activity to mainline the OX820 SoC starting kernel 4.9.x by Neil Armstrong.
