Tvheadend on ARM Kirkwood / Armada 3xx (debian package) stable / trunk

I'm using Tvheadend since more than one yeer
first the trunk releases .. and now the 4.0.9 version.


Perhaps someone can fix this?

For testing it can be downloaded Tvheadend 4.0.9 or: Tvheadend 4.1 trunk.
it can be installed with the following commands:

apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
dpkg -i tvheadend_4.0.9_armel.deb
apt-get install dvb-apps
apt-get -f install

you will be asked to create an tvheadend admin account
Please configure /etc/default/tvheadend as needed

now, login via the created account and configure Tvheadend.
(Configuration --> TV Adapters and Configuration --> Networks)
When all channels visible (Configuration --> Services) klick "Map All"

From this point, all is accessable via any client (VLC, TVHClient, Kodi)
When running into problens, check the log files and Configuration --> Muxes

hi finally i found someone with this packages i have try to make a compatible package to this armel but no success i will try tonight and give a feedback to you

I had issues with tvheadend a good while back - i found it needed to be armv6 and above to work successfully

i.e something with hardfloat capaility as opposed to the te extension found on most Kirkwood devices

tvheadend is working as expected (when running as root) but the packaged version is running as tvh:video.
the config isn't created properly, as quick and dirty solution I copied the previous config (created with tvheadend running as root) over and changed owner:group.

perhaps this has changed in this version.

any news about ths i´m tring compile but no sucess

it's working now (4.0.9) no need to run as root.

When I try install I get this error:

There is something wrong with your download (faulty internet connection I think.

I'm considering upgrading my NSA310 from jessie to stretch.
Is it possible to run tvheadend on ARM Kirkwood, debian stretch??

yes it is!. It's working on the following (tested) devices with Debian Stretch:

He comprado un wd my cloud ex2 ultra y estaría interesado en instalar tvheadend. Mirando diferentes web he llegado a esta y me ha parecido muy interesante, pero por desgracia apt-get no está instalado en mi unidad.

Mis conocimientos de linux son limitados, aún así dispongo de una raspberry pi que me ha servido para familiarizarme con comandos básico, instalación de paquetes con apt-get, creación de diversos bash, etc.. por lo que podría intentar probar cosas pero no se por donde empezar.

En la web de tvheadend, está disponible los paquetes para instalar en NAS synology, y efectivamente viene para armada 38x:

I bought a wd my cloud ex2 ultra and would be interested in installing tvheadend. Looking at different websites I have come to this and I found it very interesting, but unfortunately apt-get is not installed on my unit.

My knowledge of linux is limited, even so I have a raspberry pi that has helped me to familiarize myself with basic commands, installation of packages with apt-get, creation of various bash, etc ... so I could try to try things but I do not know where to start

On the tvheadend website, the packages to install on NAS synology are available, and it effectively comes to armada 38x:

I'm running tvheadend on Debian Jessie or Stretch.
When running on Stock WD OS, then the following things has to be done:

- depending on the TV Stick you want to use, we need a driver which isn't included in the kernel used by WD
- we need all the programs and libs used by Tvheadend on Debian
- we have to make shure that its running on startup.

Perhaps it's a better solution to use it on a bare Debian installation.

For this to run, you only need to prepare an USB Stick.
You can boot it by pressing the reset button while the box is booting up
