Pogoplug E02 front light not workin after debian 8 dist-upgrade
July 21, 2016 10:53PM
Sorry this is going to be long but it may provide insight (other than my ignorance) to the issue.

I started the process from here. I had issues with the Wheezy installer so I used the old Lenny version. It also gave me problems using wget. After finding that wget was not being found I tried to edit the script to include the path to busybox which got me to the second script which was on a read only partition I then got smarter and provided the missing link to busybox wget and it sailed through the process. In hind sight I think wget may have been the wheezy issue also.
I do remember using wget before I installed the new uboot.

Ok, so now I have Lenny running and the light still works even though it is orange. I ran update, upgrade and dist-upgrade and rebooted to the same condition.

I changed the sources.list from source.list generator to the Wheezy repositories and ran the gauntlet of upgrades. All still good.

I did the same for the following versions rebooting before starting on the next. I made sure that the kernels were upgraded properly with uname -a.

Well finally I finished the Jessie dist-upgrade and rebooted but the light in the front did not come on at any stage of the boot process. Everything else seems to be fine.

I did alot of reading with google and this post from here.
I reinstalled fw_setenv as it said and changed a few variables (you will see the bottom 3) and rebooted.

I am concerned about the nand error messages at around the 14 sec mark of the dmesg output but don't really know where to go from here or if that make be the issue.

#### free

Swap: 2008120 0 2008120

I have tried some commands and they do not have an effect either.

#### cat /sys/class/leds/sheevaplug\:blue\:health/trigger
none [nand-disk] timer cpu0 default-on mmc0

debian:~# echo "nand-disk" > /sys/class/leds/sheevaplug\:blue\:health/trigger

debian:~# echo "nand-disk" > /sys/class/leds/sheevaplug\:red\:misc/trigger

debian:~# echo "heartbeat" > /sys/class/leds/sheevaplug\:blue\:health/trigger
-bash: echo: write error: Invalid argument

I know the heartbeat wont work as it is not an option for me.

Any way I am at a loss and not where to go from here and am hoping someone may give me some insight as what to do.
Everything I have done so far with the system has been fine but this light thing is driving me nuts.

thanks

feas,

Should be:
echo none > /sys/class/leds/sheevaplug\:red\:misc/trigger
echo default-on > /sys/class/leds/sheevaplug\:blue\:health/trigger

To fix the nand error messages, you might want to try booting with my rootfs (Debian-4.4.0-kirkwood-tld-1) to see if the same error occur:

I was reading about this earlier and have downloaded the tar. Need to reread a few more time before I apply it.

Thanks again!
