Did my swap install correctly?
January 02, 2011 10:42AM
Hey I installed via the script (on a pogo plug pink) and it seems to have worked fine. However how can I verify that my swap part was set up correctly? When I do a fdisk /dev/sda1. Then p. It shows nothing?

Try fdisk /dev/sda
The argument to fdisk is a device (drive), not a partition.

The script should have created a line for the swap in /etc/fstab
cat /etc/fstab

After booting up, you should be able to do
swapon -s
and see a result that it is currently working.

Alternately, just type "free" and you'll see a line for Swap if it's enabled and set up properly.
