So close :) this is bad, because with 256M, the paging error occured (even though the kernel could not print out the whole log before hanging, it is most likely the RAM error),

So I guess you should go down to 128M and then go up if 128M is successful.

I've decided to trash the faulty unit.
It's no use trying to make it work since RAM is bas so you never know when it may freeze.
I guess all parts are soldered to the motherboard so I can't salvage anything for spare parts?

Too bad! and right, looks like you can only keep the power supply (this one is very handy). Everything is soldered.
