USB Sound and Network Streaming

Thanks for the nice Page, no my Dockstar is running Debian Squeeze :)

Now I plugged in an USB Sound Dongle and would like to share the audio input of this Dongle via Network Streaming.
I doesn't need a good sound quality, because it's a speech - radio signal.
Also i'd like to store a mp3 file of this sound source on my Dockstar, (vox triggered)

I tried this:
icecast2 + ices2 - Problem: CPU > 90%
liveice - Problem: Clients doesn't get a Stream Connection
ezstream - Problem: doesn't get a Stream Connection
vlc - Problem: i can't configure it
darkice - CPU > 90%
rplayd - CPU great, but the clients doesn't get a Stream Connection

What tool can stream my sound device to local Network-Clients and uses max. 20 % of Dockstar CPU ?
It should be run as a server 24h a day.

Thanks for your Ideas...
