wireless RALink 2070 chipset on dockstar
March 14, 2011 10:08PM
Hey all - I've been playing around with debian on my dockstar. I can bring the interface up with "$ ifconfig wlan1 up" but cannot scan for networks. It shows no results.

wlan1 No scan results

The driver "rt2800usb" is loading when the device is plugged into the dockstar. Is it the right one? Here is the output of some commands.

$ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 148f:2070 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT2070 Wireless Adapter

$ sudo iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

I've been digging pretty deep on the internet to find a solution, but nothing I try works. Maybe I should just get another wireless with a different chipset?

Hi,
I'm using gorgones Kernel with my rt2860 device and rt2860sta module. Works fine. Also I think you need the matching firmware. rt2800usb, rt2800pci etc don't work for me reliable.
