[Help plz] Starting kernel... then reboot (over and over again)
March 20, 2011 05:21AM
Hi,

Until yesterday my Dockstar with Jeff's Debian installation was working fine. Yesterday evening, I needed to restart it. Now, it tries to boot, but after starting the kernel, it reboots over and over again. If I remove my USB stick, it boots fine in Pogoplug. I can plug back my stick and mount all filesystems. But I d'ont know what to do next. Any idea? Where I can look to know what happened?

Here is the boot process:

Hi,

was this the first reboot after installing debian?

If you want to upgrade the kernel to get LED support, you can do this in chroot. I wrote a short guide some days ago (you don't need the arcNumber thing): http://dev.shyd.de/2011/03/dockstar-no-boot-self-compiled-kernel/

No, I've done several reboots after the installation. The DS worked fine for 3 months. Someone told me that it could come from the USB stick, which can be now broken.

I think I'm going to reinstall everythin on a USB disk.

Try to cp -a to another usb-stick. Maybe this will help and you won't loose your data.
