from Kernel 2.6.32-5 (org.) to newest "heavy" Kernel ....

Hello,
my Dockstar run with Kernel 2.6.32 ( jeff.doozan/Kirkwood) , Debian sqeeze.
Now I will change the Kernel, I wish to have WLAN and Sound (a little ;-) )
I've read the thread http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,582

My question: Is it so easy ?

1. download the Kernel -
2.install them -
3.rename the uInitrd
4.reboot

What I have to do to save the old, my /boot/
System.map-2.6.32-5-kirkwood config-2.6.32-5-kirkwood	initrd.img-2.6.32-5-kirkwood uImage uImage.bak uInitrd uInitrd.bak	vmlinuz-2.6.32-5-kirkwood

Thanks felixs

Ich will mir die DockStar nicht unbrauchbar machen ! ...bin vorsichtig ;-)

It should be no problem to upgrade the kernel. Just make a backup of /boot: cp -r /boot/ /path/to/bak
And yes it is that easy! :-)
