Can't boot from USB-Stick
July 10, 2011 01:23PM
I tried to install debian (http://jeff.doozan.com/debian/) on Verbatim Store'n'Go 16GB and Transend Jetflash 300 8GB without success.

Can someone look at this output. What is wrong here?

Thx, Rocky

I can see what's wrong, but I don't know why. I assume it's a compatibility issue. U-boot doesn't like your USB devices. Did you look at the thread of working USB sticks?

You are absolutely right.
It seems that both USB sticks are not compatible (1x Verbatim Store'n'Go 16GB and 2xTransend Jetflash 300 8GB).
I borrowed a HDD Toshiba STOR E steel 500GB (PA4153E-1HE0) and this USB device worked perfect.
I''ll update thread "working USB sticks".

For comparison, this is some sample output when using Toshiba HDD:

USB EHCI 1.00

Hallo,

I had the same isseu with my SheevaPlug, after an update of U-boot all of my usb sticks work.
So if you can find a new u-boot your problem can be solved.
