How do I go from Arch Linux Arm to Debian on a dockstar

Dear All

Thanks for creating such a resourceful community.

I have been reading this forum for a little bit, because I recently bought a used and hacked dockstar. It's quite good, but it has ALARM on it. Anyway I can put debian on a ALARM dockstar? I actually followed Vlad's introduction (link below)on building a working image for dockstar and built a debian, can I just untar this onto an ext2 partition? Thanks,
