Dockstar debian image for USB Stick?
September 01, 2012 05:11AM
My old USB Stick is broken and my dockstar debian system is away... (I can connect to the dockstar into the rescue system.)

My question is, how can i create a new debian on a new USB stick? Exist here anywhere a simple Image that i can put on a USB Drive? Something like http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM-armv5te-latest.tar.gz (see: http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5/seagate-dockstar ) but with debian

Maybe i can use the script http://projects.doozan.com/debian/dockstar.debian-squeeze.sh again. But it's not needed to install rescue again and the debootstrap takes a long time.

There exists a way to use debootstrap in two steps: First step on the PC and second step on the dockstar. Is it not a good idea to create a archive from the first step?

Looks for davygravy posts. His signature has links where you can find a rootfs image that will boot on the Dockstar.

Thank you.

Found them here:

etc.

Maybe the doozan tutorial page http://projects.doozan.com/debian/ should add these links?

If i see it clearly, there is only newer U-Boot, Rescue System and Kernel... But a prepared rootfs image seems only exist for NSA320: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nwt2kbvetvgvroo/c2V9HsP_C7/Kirkwood/rootfs_images

The NSA-320 tarball will boot on just about any Kirkwood box... just don't use the UBoot image in it for your Dockstar.

My debian is downloadable here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10577181/DockStar/2012-09-02DockStar2.6.32-5Backup.tar.lzma

I had my flash drive go bad and I'm having a hard time loading debian back on my dockstar from the server. I'm a bit of a noob...Can you let me know how I use your backup tar to make my usb drive bootable into debian again.
Thx
