Hello,
Since you mentioned that the file is exactly the same as bios_full.bin, I tried again using the CH341A.
After reading the chip, the contents matched bios_full.bin, and the checksum was also correct.

I completely erased the ROM, wrote the BIOS again, and verified the checksum.
However, even though the RAM is installed, I’m still getting the following error:
“Memory training fail, In a Dead Loop: Acting.”

I also tried replacing the RAM, but the same issue persists.
Do you have any idea what might be causing this problem?

Unfortunately, this is pointing to a problem with your RAM, or with the mainboard. In the experience of this forum, the only time you see the Memory training message is when the RAM is not detected at boot.

Hello, I was following your post, and it made me want to restore my DS218. I have a small CH341, and I just checked that it's working. The important thing is that I'd like to find the EEPROM dump, and I think that will be difficult to find. I'm asking if anyone has a DS218 dump handy. I can change the MAC and serial numbers, since I have the label, but I'm missing this dump, or a file that would allow me to just modify the serial and MAC address. I don't know if it's possible, but I hope so...

So thank you to anyone who can point me in the right direction, because I can't hold the tweezers to dump the original EEPROM. Unfortunately, without this dump, I'm a bit stuck, or forced to desolder the chip, but that's a lot of work. Thank you for your help, regards.

Hi, I am stuck trying to fix the Synology DS920+ BIOS, which does not boot and just has a blinking blue light. I have read the BIOS from the original chip; it is 16 MB, but the new file I got from the firmware file is 8 MB. I have to read many posts to understand how to fix it but have been unable to do something. Can you please help me? I can send you both files, please, if you have time. I will appreciate it. Thanks.

Read the posts again. You don’t use the whole contents of the file you extracted from the pat file. The last step before flashing is to append zeros at the end of the file to bring to total size up to 16MB.

The code for the eeprom can be found in the Synology Diskstation ‘.pat’ files. You need to undo these files until you find the one containing the rom. Then, extract the actual binary code from that file and flash it to the correct chip. If you read the posts in this thread you will find everything you need. Good luck
