I have not tried using it yet, but currently it is the only way to modify the u-boot environment on the A10 without a serial console or recompiling u-boot.

But, unfortunately, using this tool, or a serial console, or even recompiling u-boot does not gain us much yet on the A10. The root device is compiled into the current kernel! Can you believe it?
Talk about a fscked up move. . .
