No luck up to now. To answer your question:

I had nothing in sda2 so I extracted wheezy_rootfst.tar.gz to it.
I had no usb-drive connected up to now.

I added console to folder dev which let the 'run' a little bit longer, but it stopped as before.
Today I tried out several images I found inside wheezy-folder.
This gave a little more success but it seems I run into trouble with rights on sda2. At least I think so.

Interesting is, that I can insert or remove the USB-Drive (USB2 Ports) and the serial console tells about.
BTW: It's a rescue system USB from Shuttle for Shuttle KD20 and Shuttle say this USB stick will boot/run on USB3 Port only which is not functional up to now.

But I can't give any commands via serial console, the input is just repeated (shown), but I find no way to interact via serial console.

At this point, you have completly unbricked and ready to use the new kernel. So skip this problem, and go straight to:

Use a new USB and create the rootfs Debian-4.4.54-oxnas-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2. There is already a KD20 DTB in this rootfs. So you would append it to zImage to get the uImage. Next, use uImage and uInitrd in this rootfs to boot kernel 4.4.54-oxnas-tld-1. (Rename your current uImage and uInitrd for safe keeping, and copy these 2 kernel files to your tftp root)

Ok, I tried to follow your instructions.

In fact I use a sata disc I extracted the files from Debian-4.4.54-oxnas-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2 to sda2 (rootfs).

I append zImage + ox820-kd20.dtb to the new file uImage.
Placed both files to my tftp folder.

Started kd20 to menu.

tftp uImage to 60500000 and tftp uInitrd to 61000000.
bootm 60500000 61000000

got bad magic number.

set bootargs uInitrd to 65000000
ftp uImage to 60500000 and tftp uInitrd to 65000000.
bootm 60500000 65000000

got bad magic number.

Not really sure what I'm doing wrong, have to search.

Did you create uboot images for your kernel/initrd?

You should have a step where you generate them before moving them to your TFTP folder, similar to what's listed in the instructions:

Had some problems with uInitrd but solved it and gave it a new try.
Have to clean up some world-writable but this is secondary problem for now because I can repeat all the needed steps up to here again.
I hope I'm soon at the point to try making the kd20 box booting without sata now?

1. Remove init=/bin/systemd from the bootargs. Boot with sysvinit until your installed system is running OK. And then at that point, you can switch.

2. Change bootargs to use label rootfs so that the rootfs will be mounted from the USB rootfs (you need to create this eventually, so should do it now).

setenv bootargs root=LABEL=rootfs initrd=0x61000000 console=ttyS0,115200 elevator=cfq mac_adr=0x00,0x25,0xb1,0xff,0xff,0x00 mem=256M poweroutage=yes

Once you have booted cleanly to Debian on USB rootfs,

And at this point, flash u-boot to mtd0. And the box is fully operational.

Would you say that this is what you could tell a 'clean boot' from sata now?

There is no USB Drive plugged in, just the sata drive. (& Network cable and the serial cable)

It is OK. It just mean that there is nothing on the envs area in NAND.

You can flash u-boot to mtd0. And then fix the env at serial console prompt.

Booting via sata seems to be stable now, but the next steps, writing uImage into mtd0, I don't see any land for now.

This let me think that this info I found isn't the correct data to erase and flash:
nand erase 40000 200000
nand write 64000000 40000 200000
So I would use 60000000 as start but I'm very very unsure with the next two values.

while booting I get:

This all can't be such hard to do but I have to find the entry. A long way to go :)
Booting without sata is the first goal.

If I will come some steps forward ever, I would like to restore the old KD20 again. That was my goal.

Remember, this box is the same SoC OX820 as the Pogo Pro V3.

In your case, you would use your KD20 files:

stage1.wrapped-nand --- instead of uboot.spl.2013.10.ox820.850mhz.mtd0.img
u-boot.wrapped-nand  --- instead of uboot.2015.10-tld-2.ox820.mtd0.img

And to go back to stock, use your backup:

stage1.backup  262,1 kB (262.144 Bytes)
uboot.backup    2,1 MB (2.097.152 Bytes)
