Pogoplug e02 boot from iscsi

Hello,

I was wondering if it's possible to boot Debian Wheezy from a iscsi NAS?
Goal is to remove the USB device from the Pogo (I have a total of 5).

Other possibility is to only load system and swap from USB and data from iscsi NAS, but then I still need a USB device that is attached to the Pogo!

Hope to hear from you guys.

Greetings.

Katsumoto,

I don't think u-boot support booting with iScsi. But you can boot the kernel with tftp, providing you can run tftp server on the iscsi NAS. Or boot with nfs if you can run nfs server on that NAS.

And I should also add that, if you can set up tftp on the iscsi NAS to boot uImage and uInitrd, then it's possible that the rootfs can be on the iscsi drive. So the end result is like booting with nfs.

I know this topic is quite old but hopefully this is still of interest for you:

U-Boot v2018.03 support booting from iSCSI via iPXE. See https://www.xypron.de/projects/u-boot/iscsi.html
