Recovery via Serial: Not working as I don't get an IP
December 24, 2010 08:32AM
Hello,

I somehow bricked my dockstar.
But now I have a Serial connection ;-)

Unfortunately, I cannot just re-install, as I don't get an IP-Address, thus, I fail already with wget.

But debian is running.

ifconfig shows no output at all

Now I intended to boot the pogoplug enviroment, but that doesn't work using this command:
blparam bootcmd='run bootcmd_original'

It always boots the debian, that I installed in the NAND (no USB device connected).

Now, how do I get the pogoplug enviroment to boot?

Below, there's a complete boot log.

How should I go on?

Regards,
Hendrik

Oh dear...
I tried to re-install Debian on the NAND.

This failed when I entered:

root@debian:~# ubiformat /dev/mtd3 -y

Now the device is not booting anymore at all:

Now I'm lost.

Can anyone help?

I only get a shell

Regards,
Hendrik
Type in "printenv" and it should tell you which commands are available. Obviously "bootcmd1" is not one of them. ;) The message doesn't mean that the system is defective. What it certainly means, though, is that your boot command is false.
