goflex net problems with uboot
January 14, 2011 03:35AM
Hi,
I have a goflex net and installed debian together with the new uboot and everything works fine. But now I can not boot into pogoplug again! When no usb drive is connected it does not chainload the original uboot:

I also downloaded the file to my linux machine and can load it via tftp but the problem still exists. I also downloaded the "
uboot.mtd0.goflexnet.original.kwb" from Jeffs homepage (uboot.mtd0.goflexnet.original.kwb) but a diff shows that the files are identical. The funny thing is, that I can download the uboot for the dockstar and there the chainloading just works without problems:
Marvell>> tftp 0x800000 uboot.mtd0.dockstar.original.kwb

If I don't hit a key it boots into pogoplug, but if I want to print the environment I just get this:
-sh-3.2# fw_printenv
[ 26.710000] JFFS2 compression type 0x07 not available.
[ 26.720000] Error: jffs2_decompress returned -5
...

Actually I don't really care for the pogoplug, but it is always the base for installing other systems and I would just like to be able to boot it from uboot via netconsole or serial cable. Any idea what went wrong or how I can boot into pogoplug without loading another uboot? I am not sure if I should flash the original uboot as described here if I cant load it via tftp...

HellG,

Have you found a solution as of yet? I (still learning & reading here) have Debian installed, but rebooting w/out the Debian HD I get squat too.

No, not yet. But I didn't do much research in it recently. Will try again if I have more time.
