Kernel paramter "poweroutage=yes" ?

Hi,
in various u-boot boot paramters I've seen "poweroutage=yes" (e.g. http://www.plugapps.com/index.php5/Install_on_Pogoplug_Pro) but I could not find any information about this kernel paramter in the kernel documentation. Could someone tell me the purpose of this paramter?
