I have bricked my GoFlex Net. Please help.

Hi everyone. I have just bought an goflex net a couple of days ago and already bricked it :(

I will try to explain what I did and hope some one can help me.

1) installed uboot (http://jeff.doozan.com/debian/uboot/)
2) setup netconsole
3) reboot
At this point I was not able to boot but I could connect using net console.
I created on other computer an USB containing archlinux but still no boot.
No matter what I try to boot it always get stuck at:
“## Starting application at 0x00800200 …”
Then I searched the forum and found the following thread (http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,5072,5072#msg-5072)
So I performed the following:
tftp 0x800000 uboot.mtd0.goflexnet.original.kwb
nand erase 0x000000 0x80000
nand write.e 0x800000 0x000000 0x80000
reset

This is when my GoFlex net was bricked, it behaves in the following way:
1) blinking green light
2) no netconsole
3) serial connection outputs only unreadable characters.

Can someone please help?

You should not need JTAG, since this device supports UART booting.

About the garbled unreadable characters in serial console: are you _sure_ you have serial connected correctly? Did you have _serial_ working before this correctly? (it is clear from what you said that _net_console was working before for you)

I have only used netconsole before. I have tryed serial only since it is bricked.
I think that the serial console is not working becouse i have standard usb to serial and not to ttl.
Can this be why serial is not working?

I have an TTL-232R-3V3 http://www.google.com/products/catalog?client=ubuntu&channel=fs&q=TTL-232R-3V3&oe=utf-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=306274749503843287&sa=X&ei=t_J1T9KeO9GXtwe5ypTXDg&ved=0CGcQ8wIwAw

I'm not sure which cable you have... I don't think the 5V works correctly.

You do need to be careful w/ the serial connection. If the circuits on those pins are subjected to (even unintentional) abuse, then the device can be bricked. I don't know the condition of your box... just saying.

Ok....so. it is working now. I have made an rs232 to ttl converter and reflashed the uboot.

Buzatu,

How did you reflash the uboot?
I think I have a similar problem to yours, I've got a working Serial Connection which gets me in the Ubit 6.0 Marvell>>
environment, but I don't have anything working anymore.
