IIRC. This box is basically identical to Pogo E02 in all HW aspects, i.e same SoC, except the RAM size. You can try using the Pogo E02 cfg as is, since the Pogo E02 has 256MB and the Stora has 512MB. (less is OK, not more).

So follow joerg's tutorial (HOW2: Repair Pogo E02 with Raspberry PI (1,2 or 3) JTAG and OpenOCD).

Hi,
I have another question. I have read that processor with bootrom 1.1 whici is my case have the capability to boot from NAND, SPI, SATA.

I'm not sure if anybody has experience with that, but in principle since kwboot does not work with my HW, if something wrong with nand flashing the new uboot I should be able to recover it by placing uboot kwb file on a sata HD starting from sector 0 and be able to boot the uboot.
Is that true ?

Yes, this 6281 SoC BootROM does have the capability to boot with one of those boot sources.

No, it's not true. The boot device indicator is set in the Sample-at-Reset register (SatR) by the board manufacturer. AFAIK, there is no software-wise way to change it on Kirkwood boxes. It might be possible to do some hardware trick to manipulate the bit, but nobody has done it.

The UART boot source is sensed by the BootROM to see if a certain byte sequence has been received after power up. And then the BootROM switch to that boot mode, regardless what's in the SatR. kwboot sends this sequence to handshake with the BootROM, after the handshake was successful, it sends the payload.

BTW, SATA sector 0 is where the partition table is. You'd not want to mess with that location.
