VIA launches APC Paper $99 and APC Rock $79 - why?
January 17, 2013 03:34PM
VIA has announced the latest version of their APC board - the APC Paper $99 and the APC Rock $79 The boards are similar to the Raspi and the Cubieboard, and will be available in March, 2013.

My question is how could anybody be interested in these devices? They are way obsolete, with even lower specs than the Cubieboard, which is cheaper. They don't have SATA. They are way more expensive than a Raspi and not much faster. They have the same Mali 400 graphics as the Cubieboard, which means the cheaper Raspi is actually much better for video. They only support Android, although the kernel source is available. The only good point is the Neo-ITX format.

This is must be VIA's idea of showing how stupid its few remaining potential customers are. It is likely VIA's final attempt at "grasping at straws" before their last dying breath. This device is certain proof that there is no reason left for VIA to exist.

Somebody please give us a current quad-core ARM board worth buying. . .

</end rant>
