A15 Allwinner?

A15 Allwinner is introduced.
Still, most information is not out

is a rumor going around that with Mali400 MP4 40 nm process.
Future information is expected.

I think the specs in anticipation.
CPU name: A15 and ( thought she was wearing in the Cortex A15! )
CPU-based: if (Dual Core) Cortex A9 Quad but wow I guess w
Maximum frequency :1.4Ghz 1.8 GHz
The minimum frequency of 100 Mhz: ( battery during sleep concerns the mochi )
GPU:Mali400 MP4 300Mhz to 400 MHz (Quad Core)
L2 cache: 512 KB
40-Nm process
Maximum video supported resolutions: 2160 p

Finally, after waiting half a year, there is more news on this at linux-sunxi. . .

Seems the quad-core is now called A31, and there is also a dual-core called the A20.

The quad core is four Cortex-A7 (the lower powered version of the A15) ARM cores. It uses PowerVR graphics which basically means no Linux support :(

The A20 is two Cortex-A7 with dual Mali 400, which basically means it is already obsolete in comparison to any of the current quad-core ARM SoCs from other mfrs.

No kernel source is yet available for either SoC.

Looks like I made the right choice to jump ship.

Engadget has more details. The A20 is pin-compatible with the A10. So expect the boards using it to be updated soon. A10 is now obsolete. New tablets using the A31 are already shipping. Looks like that will be a closed chip, however. Don't expect to see kernel source or linux boards using it.. If somehow linux gets working with it don't expect graphics.

So, the A20 has 2x Mali400 ?

Yes. That is correct. It has two Cortex-A7 cores which, according to ARM, "should" each be about as powerful as the Cortex-A8 core in the A10, if the new cores are clocked appropriately, i.e. much higher than the Cortex-A8 cores.

It has a Mali400 MP2, which is dual-core Mali 400.

Allwinner has not yet released the clock speed details, AFAIK. Their plan, supposedly, was to use the A7 core to reduce the excessive power consumption of the A10 that results from their usage of an older process technology. Then the A20 would better compete against other SoC's in the extreme low-end tablet market. They are probably going to keep it clocked fairly low in comparison to other recent SoC's for that reason, and due to their use of an older process size which increases heat. Thus actual performance will likely be quite a bit less than a dual A10 core.

There are already A31 tablets on Alibaba. Those are clocked at 1.5GHz. But so far no mfr. has an A20 device. So there is no way to know its exact clock speed. Looks like A20 was made mainly to keep Cubie and Rhombus type devices going, since no major mfrs. are using it.

Mixed feelings to be honest, considering the A10 support.

Well. don't expect any non-Android Linux support for the A31 quad-core. . . it has a very very closed GPU.

I would, however, expect linux-sunxi support for the A20, at the current level that you now so much enjoy :(
