HP Laserjet 1018 ppd

Hi all,

I'm looking for the ppd file for HP Laeserjet 1018. It's the postscript definition that comes with the driver installation CD for this printer. Whether the CD is for Mac or Windows it should have this file inside. HP site no longer provides this file separately.

In Debian it would be in the /etc folder, or might also be in /usr/share/cups.

For example,
/etc/cups/ppd/

-rw-r----- 1 root lp 28255 Mar 12 2011 hp1200_7.ppd
-rw-r----- 1 root lp 24738 Aug 24 2019 HPLaserJet1200.ppd
-rw-r----- 1 root lp 24357 Apr 12 2019 HPLaserJet1200.ppd.O
-rw-r----- 1 root lp 20940 Oct 17 2012 PDF.ppd

The file name should be: HPLaserJet1018.ppd. To install a postscript printer using CUPS, the ppd is the only file that is needed.

Thanks in advance if you can post it here!

Bodhi, I am not sure if this (scroll down to see which file to download) is what you are looking for. OTOH, a Google search result reveals a lot of hits on this.

Thanks habibie.

But I was hoping someone has the HP printers installation on their box might have this file already (it usually installs a buch of HP printers). I don't want to install another driver just to get this one file! Perhaps I can find this in one of those links to some zip file somewhere and extract it.

Again, if someone has this ppd file, please post.

You're welcome, Bodhi.

If I could, I would do the same thing, especially on any Windows OS.

That will be great. IIRC (and I could be wrong), a Windows program installation (.msi) file is basically a 7z compressed file.

Found it on my Rpi printer server at
/usr/share/cups/model/HP_Laserjet-1018.ppd.gz

I don't know if this is what you need.

In my experience with HP 1022, foo2zjs driver for HP 1022 works better than HP's driver. If I scan a picture then pipe print to the HP 1022 printer, HP's driver sometimes won't work, but foo2zjs always works.
